Rose
Damask rose is more commonly used in aromatherapy, and the oil (rose otto) is steam distilled from the delicate petals. Rose absolute is extracted from the flowers cold via a solvent which is removed and recovered for reuse.
The essential oil is pale yellow, while the absolute is orange-red and viscous. Both have a deep, rich and sweet floral smell.

Digestive
Strengthening, antiseptic and detoxifying. It can be used to treat gastroenteritis and gastric ulcers. Relieves nausea and chronic constipation. Has a soothing effect on the liver and gall bladder.



Depression
Increases the sense of vitality and relaxed wellbeing. Useful for stress-related conditions in adults and hyperactivity in children.



Sexual health
Has a cleansing and toning effect on the uterus, helpful for those prone to PMT, heavy, clotted or painful periods, and during menopause. Use as a compress, massage or bath. Has an aphrodisiac effect on women.

Rejuvenating and anti-inflammatory properties make it great for dry, hot patchy skin, in a skin toner or cream helps repair broken capillaries. An excellent massage oil for scarring.
