This is the first edition published in 2018 and was written by Darshana Thacker. This recipe book came out to support the film 'Forks Over Knives' made in 2009, the film made the case that chronic ailments such as heart disease and diabetes can be prevented, halted and at times, reversed by following a plant-based diet and leaving highly refined foods off the menu, choosing to follow a whole-food, plant based diet instead.

This book was to support those people that wanted to make the transition to whole-food plant based but really don't know how to, this book is the guidance they need. This book covers recipes from all around the world, and includes recipes for breakfast, Salads, soups and stews, pasta dishes, breads, desserts and so much more.

A whole-food, plant-based lifestyle is based on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes and excludes or minimises meat, dairy products, and eggs, as well as highly refined foods such as bleached flour, refined sugar, and oil.
Research has shown that by avoiding animal products and highly processed foods, we decrease our risk of developing common ailments, including heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease.
